Thai Textiles in Fashion World 2016
The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles (QSMT) hosted a talk on “Thai Textiles in Fashion World” on May 28, 2016 at QSMT’s hall to celebrate the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty the Queen’s 7th Cycle Birthday Anniversary on this 12 August 2016 and also to mark the 4th anniversary of the QSMT on May 9, 2016.
The talk is held following the Royal Initiative of Her Majesty the Queen who initiated the project to preserve the heritage of Thai traditional textiles. It also aims to encourage the new generation of designers to know how to apply Thai textiles in their design works and at the same time to inspire Thai people to wear Thai fabrics more in their daily life.
Ston Tantrabhorn, deputy editor of Vogue Thailand magazine, together with the new generation of famous designers including Chai Jeamkittikul from Chai Gold Label fashion brand, Wisharawish Akarasantisook from Wisharawish and Prapakas Angsusingha from HOOK’s by PRAPAKAS, is to talk on the development of Thai textiles in fashion world and their inspiration for creating fashion design with traditional fabrics.
