HM Queen Sirikit’s Traditional Dress (Thai Dusit)

Her Majesty Queen Sirikit wore this dress on at least two occasions: 9 July 1963, for a banquet in Manila during a state visit to the Philippines; and 5 February 1964, to a performance at Thammasat University, Bangkok, accompanied by King Baudoin and Queen Fabiola of Belgium.

Taking its name from the Dusit Maha Prasat Hall in the Grand Palace, Thai Dusit is formal evening attire and is made of gold brocade with an elaborately embroidered bodice.

Thai Dusit is one of the eight styles of Thai national dress developed by Her Majesty between 1958 and 1964.
