In the 19th century, phaayok from Nakhon Si Thammaratprovince  was sent as tribute to the Bangkok court, but production had ceased by the early 20th century. Under Her Majesty’s direction, the SUPPORT Foundation [link]has recently revived phaayok weaving there. This piece was used as asample for the most advanced SUPPORT weavers to copy.

Remarks

King Rama V (r. 1868-1910) frequently ordered phaayok from Nakorn Si Thammaratas royal gifts. At least one example survives in the palace collections.
