QSMT Celebration
The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles celebrated the auspicious occasion of Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s 7th Cycle (84th) Birthday Anniversary, which will occur on 12 August 2016
The event featured handicrafts demonstrations by students from the Royal Vocational College for Women and the Royal Craftsmen School. Included were embroidery demonstrations; a handkerchief-folding workshop; children’s activities such as a lucky draw, weaving workshop, and doll-painting; as well as DIY by members of the QSMTstaff. A highlight of the weekend were Thai dance and Royal Khon dance performances, and the museum also presented seminars in Thai on “The Making of Royal Khon Dance Performances” with Dr.Anucha Thirakanont and Dr. Surat Jongda Visitors enjoyed a variety of products from the SUPPORT Foundation and regional Thai cuisine from the Royal Farm Project.
