Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles’ Live Streaming
The Queen Sirikit Museum of Textiles in Bangkok has served as a learning center about fashion and textiles, with a focus on Her Majesty Queen Sirikit’s personal style and promotion of traditional Thai textile crafts, and the history of Thai and other Southeast Asian textiles and related fields. The Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts at Thammasat University is a leader in art and design education in Thailand. As a center for the study of the performing arts, textile, and fashion design, and industrial and craft design, the faculty offers an excellent academic training and research program.
Our conference aims to provide opportunities for museum professionals and academics from Thailand and abroad to share their research and experience despite the restrictions of Covid-19. A distinguished roster of invited speakers will cover topics related to textile and fashion history, technology, culture, and conservation; Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother’s initiatives and the beauty of Thai craft; museum practice; and new ways of teaching, learning and presenting textiles and dress in the long-distance formats required by the « new normal » of our post-Covid-19 world.
