This batik combines late-Victorian artistic conventions—lovebirds, floral wreaths, cupids, and a general ornateness—with the European Art Nouveau style, expressed by the blue-and-pink borders on either side of the kepala. The “lace” edging is especially elaborate with deep scallops filled with four-petaled white Ixora blossoms, while the badan is filled with a scattering of sweet-smelling jasmine blossoms.
