Outer Shoulder Cloth (Pha Song Sapak)

Pha Song Sapak features the royal monogram of King Rama V “Chor Chor Chor” (Chulalongkorn Chula Chom Klao) alternating with Bai Chaiyapruek pattern. Both ends feature star signs. During the reign of King Rama V, the Most Illustrious Order of Chula Chom Klao for women was bestowed to the queens and king’s concubines. That was how the custom to embroider the royal monogram “Chor Chor Chor” on Pha Song Sapak to represent the Most Illustrious Order of a wearer took place for the first time.
